Foragers - a new local farm in the making

Foragers have been one of our growers and producers on NeighbourFood from the start.   They are located between Drymen and Balfron so they certainly tick the local box.   The family farm is run by Jo and Gary McAlpine with help on hand from their 3 sons Colin, Gavin and John.  The McAlpines moved to the area in 2014 with ambitions to create a new farm from scratch on what was an old meadow used for occasional horse grazing.

NeighbourFood Online Local Food Market Launch

Today we launched our online farmer's market, Balfron Neighbourfood, with a tasting event at Balfron High School!  

Lots of local producers and lots of local people came along to try the delicious fresh vegetables, meat, dairy products, jams, cakes and more that was on offer.

Mark Ruskell, our Green MSP was also kind enough to drop in and say a few words.
